Maybe its the way the post was written, but love that you both related it to home chores :) and listening to my wife.

I hate the use of the wanna - do regardless actually its worse at work

At one point in life I worked at Red Lobster, and when your the new guy, you get the, Samer, wanna get those pots done before we take off. Just to let you know, by pots, we are talking about apple pie tins, and red lobster uses those to broil fish and everything under the sun, so at the end of the night when your are just beat and ready to crash, comes, Samer wanna do the pots, which means I have to hand scrub 300 pie tins and guaranteed to be the last one to leave. Maybe that's why I hate dishes anyway, you wash that garbage off every night with left over fish sitting there on the pie tin for hours and see if you wanna hear the "wanna do" sentence :)

My pet peeve is the "You can ____." As in, "You can close the door. You can turn off the light." What they really mean is, "Close the door! Turn off the GD light."

But I totally agree with ShelleyC - be nice to your sweetheart. Maybe she thinks it's better to ask you if you want to do the dishes rather than telling you to get off your ass and do them. :)

Samer - I totally agree... which is why I boycotted the phrase "Good Morning" years ago... there is nothing good about the morning in my opinion. I hate waking up in the morning and I've never been a morning person. I wish the day started at noon or whenever I was ready basically. When people say "good morning" it drives me insane since I'm not a morning person... yet some people at my office actually have had the gall over the years to get mad at me when they say "good morning" and I say "hey" or "hello"... and they are all "GOOD MORNING, SHELLEY" and I'm like, "Yeah, HELLO (and an implied F-off)"... it may sound immature of me, but to me, it's the principle of the thing. I am so tired of the "good morning" police, much like you are tired of the "wanna do the (insert crappy activity here)" police...

On the other hand, be nice to your wife, dude. I know she means well when she says that. ;-)
