The Best Hot Dogs, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives Style

Last week I was in the Azores Island of Sao Miguel and noticed a very bazaar thing, Hot Dog carts are every where and more interesting hot dogs are quite elaborate and have several toppings.

Intrigued, I was about to try one in the town of Agu do Pau, until I was told not to. Hold on till we go to Ponta Delgada (the islands main city) and try it from the best guy. Well lets go now, its only a 20 min drive. NOOOOOOOOO we have to wait till after midnight until the best guy shows up, he works the bar scene.

So we went clubbing (not something I enjoy at all, but its for the cause) at about 4 am, it was hot dog time. So we went to see the guy, located just outside the city’s three famous arches (see location in YouTube video). For a moment I felt Like Guy Fieri from the show, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I asked for the works and got it.

And after the dog is dressed up and ready to go, it looks like this, here is the list of ingredients first

Bun, dog, ketchup, mustard, piri-piri (tobacco), olives, corn, onion, olives, mushrooms, coleslaw, mayonnaise, a lot of hickory sticks like potato chips
